Morning. Been a long time since I have posted in here.

Thought I would post a few pics up of my new car. 55 plate Evo IX GT (JDM Import) with 32k on the clock.

Currently running 2.0bar boost, last dyno print out was 540bhp at the crank (around 450 at the wheels).

Initial plans are to get it cleaned up properly, all paint corrected as I dont think its ever been properly done. Then change the wheels and fit braided brake lines and uprated pads and discs.

Thanks for looking :)

It is pretty quick, the short ratio box helps a lot with that. the TT S205 is more a top end power turbo though, which means I can cruise along quite comfortably when I need to. Managed to average 24mpg on a full tank the day I got it, which I thought was reasonable.

The exhaust is too loud though, literally 3" straight through, the house vibrates when its running!! Im looking at replacing it with something a little tamer.

Stunning, have always loved Evos. I'm going to see one today at 1pm, an Evo 8 FQ320 MR running 385BHP. See my thread.

I have limited my search to just the MR models so far, maybe I should consider the GT/non-MR versions!

I went for the GT due to not having to worry about the AYC dying as it has the RS rear diff, also the 5 speed short ratio box was a factor.

Looks awesome, really have a thing for the Evo 8-9

What happened to the S2k?

I realised, its annoying wedging myself into a racing seat and 4 point harness every day, just so I can fit my lanky ass into the car :D

Amazing car by the way, loved every minute of ownership.

Looks pretty awesome, got any videos?

Carbon front splitter, rear wing and vortex generator would look pretty smart and contrast nicely against the white.

No videos yet but new gopro is on the way, so will be taking some soon. The rear wing is already carbon, the vortex generator and front splitter are possibilities however!

What's the advantage to buying an import over a UK model?

I believe the GT model was import only. The GT has all the options the GSR has, but with an RS rear diff, 5 speed short ratio gearbox and some other changes.

Well, it's obviously not as quick as a VR6 supercar....

P.S. wtf is that gearknob lol?!

Its a ralliart one, it came with the car. I quite like it actually, feels like I'm holding a snooker ball lol.

Love it!

What happened to the track development s2000?

A mixture of the above (it not really being a car for a person of 6ft 8) but primarily because I secured a drive in the Civic Cup (part of the Nippon Challenge) which sort of made the whole point of making the S2000 a track/race car redundant. Sold the s2000 and bought a B5 S4 which was nice but wanted something a bit rawer and more modern so sold that in January and waited for the right car.

I honestly wasn't even considering an Evo, I went to look at it on the off chance and fell in love with it. Its a great car. I know it has a certain reputation as being perhaps a little chavvy, but the exterior at the moment, bar the front splitter is as it came from the factory and personally I really like the aggressive look it has.

without a doubt, an evo in the wrong hands is a killer, of either the driver or others. Im thankful I have track experience and the opportunity to continue racing on track. It has calmed my road driving down considerably.

Thats a very responsible attitude. I had to look inwards and ask myself if I thought I was a good enough driver, honestly, I don't think I am.

I'd certainly have an FQ300 or Impreza STI, but any additional mods to add power like what I experienced yesterday is not for me. Scary.

My girlfriend is constantly asking to have a go, she is a good driver (I wont tell her to her face) but there is no way she is getting behind the wheel of it.

nice piz <o/

Thanks Will :D

Done a few bits to it this past week. Fitted an Alpine IVA-520 Double din stereo.

No pics.

But the best part is the new wheels :D

265/35/18 Continental Contact Sport 2's on a set of 18x9" ET29 Yokohama Advan RS'.

There is a bit of rubbing on the rear arches, im gonna get that looked at this week. Over the moon with the look though.

8.3kg each without tyres, in case anyone is interested.

Very nice. What cams are you running to get that figure?

Some MR headlights would really set the white off in my opinion.

MR headlights is a good shout, Hadn't thought of that until you just mentioned it.

Cams are standard. I didnt do the engine work or have it done, but I do have the dyno sheets.

Ill scan the 540 one tomorrow.

THAT looks ******* AWESOME!!!

*snip*

Heh thanks. How do you find the Harness bar?

If you are only running 2 bar then you are definitely running some aftermarket cams in there - probably at least some 272 deg variant like Kelford or GSC's.

I wouldn't even get 400 atf at 2.0 bar on mine. Even with the revisions in the 9 engine I doubt you'd make much more. Pretty much think the limit would be 450 atf.

Is the idle quite lumpy? Most 272's are.

Would like know though as I'm wondering whether to go 264's or 272's myself.

It's a lovely car though mate - I'd love a 9 MR in white although I think there's only about 3 in the country.

Id say its a little lumpy, I wouldnt have thought it is 272 lumpy however. Ive got stacks of paperwork, but cams werent mentioned when I purchased it.

Ill check all the documents later and scan in the dyno print out. its just pub numbers, and I guess all dyno prints should be takin with a pinch of salt.

Bum-dyno says scary fast though. Hoping to get some videos soon :D
