It's Chopped Up Forza

My 360 has chopped up Forza 2, done a perfect ring scratch all the way around the disk. I'm really angry as I loved the game.

It's 1 year and 6 months old has been doing it since christmas. (did it to GoW too.)

I don't have the receipt but it was purchased off argos online back in Jan 06.

How do I go about getting a replacement? Do they have my details on a system where I tell them the serial number and they will know I purchased it?

Thanks.

MS will send you out another disc for a tenner, consoles fault or not, they still want a tenner off you :(

If you're going to get MS to repair it, when you call them say it's destroyed the disc. If you argue the point they may give you a new disc as part of the repair cost.

I'm not paying for anything lol.

It's one of the 2005 edition consoles btw.

I feel confident in bringing the disc back to life with a bit of brasso but the console needs sorting.

I intended to go straight to the argos under the sales of goods act and see what the said. I payed nearly £300 back in Jan 06 and it's now faulty. Hardly a good lifespan is it?

They wont. I tried to get Forza 2, Tiger Woods and R6V out of them that my Xbox chewed, but they wouldn't budge.

Competitor btw mate.

But good luck with that, see the 'So they want to go to court' thread down below.

I have heard of people pulling shifties in ***** before involving purchasing a new console.

Just posted about this, my Forza 2 disc has a nice circular scratch at the top and wont work anymore.

My console is gonna be picked up soon for repair, but still p*sses me off as I only bought the game a few days ago. They will replace it even if I have to go down there myself  :D

I gave mine a good hard rub and it works now! not gonna play it on my 360 though, cos it will only scratch it again. So ill have to wait til my 360 returns from MS HQ for the 2nd time

Annoying, as I was REALLY getting into this game!

It is a first party title.

And strangely enough it seems to be first party titles that scratch. I have just had my GOW replaced and also my Forza is getting disc read errors and I know that soon enough a scratch will appear. Do MS manufacture all 360 games or only their 1st party ones?

It's awful, if it does eventually give up on me i'll get a PS3 as they seem far more reliable.
Couldn't agree more, just waiting for my 5th (yes 5th) console to come back and it's their last chance. Any more problems and I am going Sony for sure.

I certainly wouldn't get a PS3 for the sake of it, there is only one good game on that at the mo, the rest are complete cack!

The 360 is far better than the PS3 game wise, but build quality, no chance!

5th console, damn this is my second... and Im sure it wont be my last!

I am trying my best to stick with 360 but a line has been drawn and console number 5 is right on it... I could happily have 4 or 5 PS3 games which is no more than i want to keep on 360. I'm just fed up of MS making claims about how users are at fault for discs getting scratched, then they change their minds and say it's possibly the consoles fault. Then, admitting that the console has scratched the disc they charge you to replace it when they should replace it for free...

I hope Microsoft realize how much this is all damaging their reputation. It's gonna make sales of the next console very slow indeed for the first six months while people wait to see if it's reliable.

The bizarre thing for me is that they still haven't fixed the x-clamp issue after all this time and they're still putting out 360s with dodgy dvd drives. It's bad enough that their QA let all these problems through in the first place, but to then spend 18 months apparently doing nothing about these problems is bordering on unforgiveable.

Really takes the fun out of owning a console when you're worried to use it in case of red lights or disc scratching.

Only disc I have had problems with was Tony Hawks American Wasteland.
