Its easier to pirate.

i have ultimate carnarge installed ,it runs on the windows live login so i hope the dodgy copys dont work online . it is dissapointing there seems to be no lan option in the menu as lan play is so much fun .

Ive spent the last hour trying to get Flatout Ultimate Carnage to work, despite having no game copying software on my pc, flatout insists that i am using daemon tools or alcohol 120%.

Im wondering with software like securerom, whats the point in actually buying games, ill have to take it back to the shop for a refund now, which will no doubt be a trial in itself.

I couldn't agree more.

Shouldn't be a trial at all. Just tell them you didn't agree with a clause in the EULA. As you can't actually read the EULA without opening the game they have to give you a full refund.

Hmm would that work?

It will work, it is in the EULA and unless the shop offers you the opportunity to read this before opening the game they have no choice but to honour it.

I'd rather have them focus on importing things rather than your average joe downloading an album or a game.

Agreed, put the mpaa, and organisations like brein and the riaa and some internet piracy investigators on the streets patrolling instead and it's much more useful.

As cracks go, I never really had any problems using them, and I gave up on original exe's ages ago...

I caved, downloaded the no-cd patch, its crashed twice already, its going back to the shop.

The ironic thing is i totally renounced piracy a couple of weeks ago, i used to copy pc and 360 games, i sold my 360, deleted all my games i hadnt bought and started buying stuff, ironically this is the first time ive had a problem playing a game, its probably karma.

Just wanted to say congrats on the renouncation of piracy.

Tis a big step you are taking.

I also sold my flashed 360 and have went back to PC games.

I've never had any problems installing a game in my now 8 years of PC gaming

fingers crossed

But you are right what's the point of CD checks on bought games. :(

It's like the DVDs with their copyright notices that you can't fast forward or that stupîd piracy advert that only appears on original DVDs lol

Having to have the CD/DVD in to play the game is almost as annoying as the Anti-piracy adverts that are on all legitimate video DVDs which you can't skip. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we pick DVDs as they were "instantly playable" ?

Grr!

I've actually started to favour legit download vendors online over shop bought game DVDs as copy protection isn't an issue.

Actually come to think of it, i bought speedball 2 a couple of weeks ago, it dosnt work either on vista 64, im not having much luck since i started buying stuff :P

Might format tomorrow and stick my windows xp back on, should solve a few problems.

Everybody does it, having a CD/DVD in the Drive to play a game in 2008 is retarded.

GRID needed the NoCD/DVD to actually fix it. ;)

if i can be bothered on my games i will buy a legit copy for the code, then download a crack copy to run off the hard drives, (or just use steam) its way fatser and you dont have the drive wirring round, and frankly when using cracks (with a legit code) its scary how easy ir is to get past the software.. frankly they should just cut their losses and stick with ease of use, untill theres a completely uncrakable but very compatible method, which there will never be...

So so true, its not just games buyers that are penalised, i stopped buying dvds when they started stiucking all the anti piracy trailers on them that really did get my goat

I assume that all that companies know that their games will get cracked...but they make most of their money from the first few weeks after release and so the copy protection will stop the game being cracked straight away.

Slysoft AnyDVD goes straight to the start of the main movie, also decrypts and deregions it "On The Fly". ;)
