I plan when I buy things, I'm weird, I know.

So, this week is GPS week! Yayyy, I got a few very large, long and vital trips that I NEED GPS for, I can manage without, but it will be a huge stress without.

Such as 3 EU trips coming up, one of which is 2 weeks on the bike, Spain, France, Switzerland, Munich, Netherlands and Germany... The first little test trip is the one for the bike meet in a couple of weeks to Brighton.

Anyway, I'm hovering over the buy button for this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-1GD0...id=1394448836&sr=1-2&keywords=tomtom+rider+v5

Has anyone got a good excuse for me not to? I've compared it to the Garmin Zumo 350 and 660 and both don't have what this one does in my eyes in terms of features.

I've been eyeing up that for the "Twisties fun mode" I'm a little dubious on the size though as most bike tom tom's I've seen have been quite huge.

It does look rather clunky. Which I guess will help when I inevitably drop it lol.

I've read nothing but good things about the twisty route option.

Wow I didn't realise Motorbike Sat Navs were so expensive.

Yea, it's daft, I can see their a total rip off, but oh well :(

GS option, HA. My Multi will make mince meat off it the trails set forth. The tyres how ever... Not so confident lol.

I got the one in your link. I like it, it does the job and has a range of options on how to get from A to B. Like shortest, quickest, scenic and no motorway options. Also for fun you can have the voice changed on the intercom I had Billy Connolly when I went to Scotland:p

Ooooooo, where did you get BC from?

Also, tried installing Tyre on my PC.... Jesus what a 2 bit program, can't get it to work, oh well.

could you not use an old phone for this?

i have my old galaxy note now i have a note 3 and was wodnering if i could use it as a gps?

After using it heavily this weekend navigating to South London and then through central London. I much rather rely on a dedicated GPS.
