What's an 81A filter used for btw, it came with everything else and i've only ever looked at UV and polarising filters before now.

A warmup filter gives the image a slight orange tone, to help.. well warm up the shot. Often used when daylight is giving the scene a cold blue cast, as it help to balance the colouring a bit. Its not essential anymore as with digital you can adjuct the colour temperature afterwards, but probably still fun to play with.
