After only 5 days the new toy has turned up:

Intel Core i5-2467M.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
English Genuine Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium (64Bit OS)
500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
11.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366X768) Truelife WLED
LCD Back Cover : Stealth Black (WLAN)
3 Pin 1M 90W AC Adaptor
4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
Wireless: Intel Wireless-N 1000 Card

Just slung in a Crucial M4 256GB + 8GB of Corsair Vengeance and factory resetting as we speak.

Apart from a damaged audio connector she is good to go (Dell have been informed) can't wait to test this little baby out.

HP DM1 pah!

Is that an M11x? Outlet purchase? It'll fly with those extras on board! I'm not too familiar with HP...Googling for the DM1 is coming up with low specs in comparison, but am I looking at the right model? Do you mind if I ask what the total outlay has been? I was mulling over a low spec M11 in the same way a couple of weeks back but didn't take the plunge.

What are you running on it?

Hi fella sorry did not spot your reply.

Spec of the AW l got from the outlet is as follows.

Alienware M11x R3
Wireless: Dell 375 Bluetooth Card
Processor: Intel Core i5-2467M (1.6GHz, 3MB Cache)
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
English Genuine Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium (64Bit OS)
Misc
AntiVirus: McAfee SecurityCenter 30 Day trial version
500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
11.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366X768) Truelife WLED
LCD Back Cover : Stealth Black (WLAN)
3 Pin 1M 90W AC Adaptor
4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
Wireless: Intel Wireless-N 1000 Card
Certified Refurbished

Well M11x r3 l got all in for £544.46(inc vat and del)
Memory and SSD where £270.58 all in.
So £815.04 total.

However on opening l found the middle audio port damaged, it still works however reached back to dell and they are giving me a good will 10% refund, so knock off another £54.

So grand total for the last revision of the M11x r3 to £761.04.

It would have cost £1,208.99 had l spec'd it from dell :D

Running Deus Ex human rev, Syndicate, CoD MW2, CoD BO, MW3, WoT, SwtoR, Skyrim, Fallout - New Vegas.

All run fine with med settings at native res :p Generally take shadow off, still tweaking.

So basically l got the size and weight of a slightly fat ultra-book, with nearly the same umf of a XPS 15 I501x(ish).

Regards.

C.

whats it like to use...

Hi i am thinking of getting one soon to replace my 15r (i3 380m 5650m)

my i ask you how it runs? as i will using a ssd in it aswell...

dose it run cool? and how is it under gaming (if used for that...)

and are you enjoying it :D

That is a really nice config, and what a price! Well done...I bet you live on Rockall hence the simplicity of the refund versus an engineer visit! Thanks for sharing the details, I'm off for a gander at the outlet!

I've possibly gone spec blind after looking at so many lists, but, it must've come with a GPU? Which one?

Nothing enticing on the outlet right now, but I suppose I'm looking at the late night left overs, must drop in during working hours tomorrow.

That does seem a good price, well done. Haven't considered these, will look out for a 14.

Aye it runs well, fan runs up once in a while when surfing the net, never noticed it much, spins up to med speed when watching HD content, no real drama, can get noisey when gaming :) gaming headset anyone :D temps not too high:D Plenty vids on youtube giving run down on r1, r2 & r3 gaming wise.
And yes l am enjoying it, this should be my last tech buy for sometime, and will do nicely when l go abroad with work etc. Basically it is a chunky ultra book with umpf :D With SSD fitted there is as alway a marked increase in speed in all respects

GT 540m Easily OC to => GT 550m performance.

M11x r1 = C2D + GT335m.
M11x r2 = 1st gen i3(?)i5/i7 + GT335m.
M11x r3 = 2nd gen i3/i5/i7(expensive) + GT540m 1Gb(i3/i5)2Gb(i7).

Generally updated on a Monday iirc wrt outlet.

However l checked every day and this popped up at random just lucky l guess:D

Wait till about christmas time you should start to see M14x r2 refurbs, M14x r1 should pop up earlier.

Alienware M11x R3 is an amazing little bugger.

Got mine a week ago and damn, it flies.

Boots Windows in 8~ secs with 128GB Crucial M4 SSD and plays games like Crysis rather comfortably, 30~ fps at med/high settings and it still looks good.

How's the temp on yours? Mine reaches 70c when gaming, with the GPU overclocked to 740Mhz.

Sig related. ;P

Mine sits at high 60 @ stock, from what l understand most dont gain more than +3 when overclocked (within reason).

Aye they are fine little flyers :D

Plenty of gen on NBR.
