Hi there

It’s this time of the year again and looking to make some upgrade on my pc/

Please find below the current built.

My aim is to get this pc up to date for incoming games and be as future proof as possible.

My budget for any upgrades on the current configuration is between £300-400.

Thank you very much for any input.

Coolermaster HAF 932
Titan Fenrir T
Intel i7 920, D0 SL
Nvidia GTX 560TI
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

My main thought of the best upgrade for performance at the moment might be a solid state as they seem to have come down a bit in price

Do you have a good PSU?

I'm thinking a SSD and a second GTX560ti in SLI.

Hi and thanks for your response

I currently have a Corsair 620W PSU.

Do you think that would be able to handle a new GPU and SSD ?

Well the SSD consumes almost nothing, but a second GTX560ti is a bit too much for the PSU, despite it still being very good and a model made by Seasonic.

IF you could sell your GTX560ti and replace it with a 6950/GTX570 then that will be ok for the PSU.

What resolution is your monitor?

Or of course you could buy a new PSU along with a GTX560ti/SSD and use up all of your £400.

What sort of overclock have you got on the 920?

SLI GTX560ti at stock should use no more than 340 W (28.3 A).

Your Corsair 620W HX? has 600 W (50 A) +12 V output available.

260 W (21 A) seems plenty for the CPU/mobo and drives, unless you have a heavy overclock.

there has been no overclock done on this built as yet, something i most def need to work on very soon.

Regarding the screen, its a 24"

Thanks very much for all your comments till now :-)
