• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

It's time for something new.

So, I think it's time for an upgrade.

I've been rocking my 480 for a number of years now, and whilst I've actually started to get used to the noise it produces, and an finding the heat is actually quite useful sometimes, I think it's time for something a bit more powerful, and much quieter.

Let me start off with some simple points:
  • Budget isn't really an issue. I could get a 780TI if I wanted to, but don't see the point if it'll be surplus to needs.
  • My 480 hasn't actually been that impairing in games I play, I don't play that many games anymore. However I have just started playing the elder scrolls online, and think a bit of extra oomph would be nice just so I can fully max out.
  • Requirements are that it can support two screens with probably a game on one and maybe some tv on the other - the 480 occasionally huffs a bit about this. Whilst at the moment it's a 24 and 19 inch screen I could see it becoming a 30 and 24 one day.
  • Case is a Lian Li 354b, obviously a new gpu would need to fit, but the 480 is fairly monstrous in size anyway. Only thoughts here may be some coolers may not be appropriate but I can look into that.
  • I want to continue to be with nvidia
  • PSU is a Corsair 750AX so it shouldn't be an issue there either
  • I don't actually do that much gaming anymore. If it weren't for TESO I probably wouldn't be upgrading it and would get a chunky SSD instead

Cheers
