The old faithful i5 2500k and 980 are really showing their age with Halo infinite barely able to hit solid 60 FPS.

Looking at the pre built route with GPUs being hard to come by.

Quite content gaming at 1080p, just after higher FPS. I use a 24” 144hz. In the same breath, the option to potentially go 27” IPS in the future would be nice, if the budget allows.

Budget ideally would like to stay below £1500. Been faffing on with customising the enigma etc. But just keep chopping and changing.

Also, would anyone know if you can swap out your case for one that’s not listed in the select options? And is my best bet to phone order to have these sort of customisations?

Likely to play Halo Infinite and BF2042.

For the sake of nostalgia here’s the pre build I bought all those years ago.

980, new ram and an ssd has been all it needed throughout the years.

12600k
16GB of DDR4, a higher speed one, to keep costs down
A decent Z series motherboard of choice

Would be a great start. I’m a little out of touch with GPUs - maybe a 6600XT? 3060 Ti FE

I typically prefer to go with Nvidia because of the features :-)

Here is what I would go with, a little over budget.

That same build £1856 now

Yep looks like the launch offer has finished.
Bit cheeky of them though..at launch, it was £200 discount as new build for them, and a bargain as you just couldn't get a gpu then(3070ti were all north of £1100), so self build couldn't get close.
Now it says £100 discount, but its £200 more expensive...just shows the little bits there been adding to the components elsewhere, esp as the GPU's can now be had at £950...hence why not a no brainer anymore , just value
