I'd rather have a dry winter but just raining in the evening or something. I can't cope with the cold AND the rain! :o

To be honest I don't mind a bit of rain it keeps the garden alive and washes away the dust. and because it's nice and warm things dry off quickly anyway.

but touché, cold isn't good if you have the likes of Reynaulds ... what are relative population excess deaths due to degrees of hot/cold.

BBC is very poor for me, consistently getting the highs and lows wrong, today it think its a high of 26c? Erm no, more like 31c.
 
The Met Office's current forecast for me is showing a slight downwards trend in temps to below 30c from Saturday onwards. 29c on Sat, 26c on Monday.

It looks like tomorrow/Friday will be the peak of this heatwave.

....I'll believe it when I see it. Probably get pushed back like last time.

Same here, however 26c is still quite above average and its still sunshine, no rain which is very much needed now.
 
Record deaths here in Spain this year due to the heat.

I've not actually found it *that* horrific compared to last year, although i'm in a different house which is better insulated and so AC is probably doing a better job, last year i remember using a towel on the sofa to soak up ball sweat. Maybe i'm firmly becoming Spanish :D

Just looked at outdoor temp - It feels hot today with no wind and my old clockwork temp gauge is showing 90f (it is facing the sun) - I used to like the sun in my younger days but not anymore.
