i hvae itunes on windows vista and seven

unfortunately i selected let itunes manage my library in 7 in order to sync my music between the two OS'

its 250gb of music and now its all sorted via artist into 9000ish folders with many subfolders inside them. is there a quick and easy way i can eaily get them back to album folder by folder only please?

i don't think you can use itunes to do this. not sure if there are additional plugins or anything like that.

you could use foobar to put it back into album folders. make sure you select the "file operations" component during setup. now you add your itunes folder to a playlist (this takes awhile on the first run). highlight all files and then select "file operations>move>..." (or copy - upto you).

in this dialog pick a new destination folder. then for the pattern you can use various different options

%album%\%filename%

would leave the existing filename intact and just stick the files in to album folders. or use

%album artist%\%album%\%filename%
%album artist%\%date% - %album%\%filename%

...you get the idea. and the preview will give you some kind of idea what it's doing.
