iTunes 11.01

iTunes 11.0.1
This update to the new iTunes addresses an issue where new purchases in iCloud may not appear in your library if iTunes Match is turned on, makes iTunes more responsive when searching a large library, fixes a problem where the AirPlay button may not appear as expected, and adds the ability to display duplicate items within your library.

It also made the "Download all free updates" option work for apps, which had been broken before (for me, at least).

Didn't fix any of the criminal bugs version 11 introduced.
Can't view albums by year in artist mode, song mode can do it but you can't view covers in song mode. In Artist mode albums previously grouped together by artist name are now grouped by Album Artist, and it no longer differentiates name, middle name and surname from three word band names, so the retarded software now displays Martin L Gore, Martin L. Gore and Martin Gore as three separate artists. What's worse it actually creates three separate folders in library for them and moves the files physically. What's even worse than last worse thing, is that correcting Artist and Album Artist in metadata by editing fields for all songs doesn't actually make any difference and the stupid software still shows three separate artists and won't move them back in physical folders.

I haven't seen something so half baked, broken and backwards since Zune.

You can do this by going to the View menu, 'View Options', then 'Sort Albums by' and pick 'Year' from the drop-down.

The rest of the problems I haven't noticed myself but I've always found iTunes to be picky with artist names so in the habit of keeping on top of metadata before adding to the library. Have you tried doing the edits from album view or artist and doing the whole album at the same time (i.e. right click the album name)?
