Hi guys,

I'm trying to get iTunes off of my C: drive (SSD) but every time I move my library, change the directory in preferences etc, it always seems to revert back to the default: 'C:\Users' path.

I've tried following various guides but nothing seems to sort it? Most recently used this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364 but the problem persists - what am I doing wrong

Thanks.

you should re-direct your entire music folder. you do this through explorer by browsing to c:\users\you. simply right click my music>cut and then paste it in the alternate location.

i just tested this and with a clean install of itunes and it put the itunes folder as a subfolder of my moved music folder as expected.

In simple terms: go to your Desktop, open the folder with your name next to it or under it. Right click on the Music folder and select properties. Select destination, which should currently be your C:\Users directory and change it to where you would like it to be. You could select a whole partition to store your music and media which makes backing up a lot easier and gives you greater control.

^you should try the cut/paste method like i suggested. it does exactly the same thing with less effort. also, you can move all other folders at once if you want to. using your method on each folder would be tedious.

Thanks fellas! I right-clicked on my Music folder and changed the path to the directory I wanted and then moved all of the files - seems to have done the trick ;)

The process has left behind a Music (inaccessible) folder though in my C:\Users folder - is that normal? I can't seem to delete it? Not a major problem I know - it'll probably be gone by the time I've next restarted Windows.

Right, bit of an issue - I think I've deleted some of my apps (on my pc) and I basically get this now:

In my iTunes folder (Mobile Application) I still have my apps showing, all 105 of them, but they don't show up in iTunes itself? Is there a way of copying all the apps I have from my phone to my computer, that way I will know exactly what I still have - there were a load of duplicates I deleted earlier! Ideally can this be done without having to re-order then once they're copied from my phone?
