Hey guys,

I've popped back to iTunes after a stint with winamp, and i've noticed that it's been using in excess of 1gb of memory...!

Any way to regulate this crazy amount of usage?

Thanks.

Are you sure there's a 64-bit iTunes? I thought it just included 64-bit drivers but the app was still 32-bit.

FYI my iTunes library is 20GB and it uses 80MB of RAM.

Something is very wrong. :/

Slightly echoing the above, but with a library of 8000 songs it is using 35MB after being used most of the afternoon.

I have around 12k songs at about 300gb in size in apple lossless, does this have an impact?

I was thinking it might be something to do with coverflow and scrolling through the collection or something, i could be barking up the wrong tree though.

Either way, somethings wrong :(

To answer the winamp question, i just fancied a change, and i like itunes interface more.

To exclude the amount of songs from the problem.

- Remove all current songs from iTunes
- Create a new folder with say 200mb of music and then re-import it.
- Post results.
