iTunes a requirement for owning a macbook air?

Looks like I may have to use one with work so just wanted to check as I have very little love for iTunes.
I assume the answer will be no but just checking as you never know with apple!

well, itunes is installed just as media player is on windows, so yes it's there, but the air doesn't care if you open it up or not...

Nope, moreover you can completely uninstall iTunes and any of the iLife suite with relative ease.
