Just got a new iPod but I don't want to give my CC details just to have a store account to allow me to download album covers.

Is there another itunes alternative that will allow me to control my music between the PC and Ipod and downloads and displays album covers on the iPod display.

Use iTunes but add the album covers yourself. Find the image you want as the cover, and add it to the file manually.

Why not use iTunes to grab album artwork? It downloads album artwork from the iTunes store at 600x600 from the master rather than a scanned in cover. It's the best quality source of album artowkr. You can use iTunes to embed the artwork into the ID3 tags so it's recognised by alternative programs :).

There's a way to avoid entering CC Details:
Go to a free app, click download, create new account. The option for "None" will appear.
