itunes and iphone

Hi,

i have a 3G which is at the end of its contract and i want to give it to my dad and replace my one with a 3GS so what do i need to do with my account so i can sync my itunes and app with the new 3GS and what will happen when my dad plugs my old one in on his itunes account ?
 
  1. Sync the iPhone 3G in iTunes
  2. Turn off iPhone 3G
  3. Swap SIM from iPhone 3G -> iPhone 3Gs
  4. Sync iPhone 3Gs and choose "Restore from Backup"
  5. Plug in iPhone 3G and choose "Restore" in iTunes

You now have a working iPhone 3Gs and a iPhone 3G that is clean and ready to be configured on his machine.

Thanks, dose this still work if your new iphone also has a new sim and network provider ?
 
Yes. The sync backs everything up via iTunes so it doesn't matter what network you switch to, or what iPhone you switch to.
