I'm feed up with Osx and especially iTunes, I think safari looks rubbish compared to Vista/firefox IE7 and this is my own personal choice. But iTunes is sending me mental it is just carp, cant burn a CD from my iPod, cant copy my music from iPod to my hard drive. Just seems everything is hard work in iTunes.
Even went in and spoke to the guys at the Apple shop and he told me what to do with iTunes but its still not working. Dont get me wrong i love my Macbook pro but it looks like i'll be using vista and bootcamp from now on. Anyone else feel like this

No. Safari is great but you can use Firefox on OS X if you wish. iTunes can be a git, but that doesn't matter if it is running on OS X or XP. I tried to run iTunes on Vista a couple of times but I lost the will to live.

Is syncing causing you problems? You cannot "copy" music to and from your iPod. You could always hard-reset your iPod and try a fresh sync.

Putting Vista on your MacBook is just dirty. Dirty in a bad way mind you. ;)

I cant sync my ipod to my itunes because it says it will erase all the music on it and thats why I want to copy the music off it to my hard drive on my MBP but when i click on the ipod on my desk top (after enabling disk mode in itunes) i still cant see my music and just four folders calenders, contacts, notes and recordings. Oh yes and I also love dirty anyhow :D

Forgot to say all my music is on my main PC back at home and i'm at my GF's thats why i dont want to lose all the music on my ipod.

You can get programs that will copy music off of your iPod and into iTunes.

Senuti is one of them.

I want to copy it into a folder on my desktop, oh yeh forgot also say the mighty mouse is the biggest pile of poo going. I think I might go out side and smash it up

To late :p I'm back in vista with boot camp and it looks and feels better, can see all the music files on my ipod now and copy them to my hard drive. I really did think OSX would have sold me but it hasent and i have been using it for a few weeks now. I so wanted to love OSX

If you wana explain clearly what the problem is we can help you fix it.

The first problem cannot be changed it just the way OSX is coded, just dont like the look of safri it looks blurred and poor. Now i know some people like it but I hate it and you may ask is this a big enough thing to change back to vista and i say yes.

Also I like vista and dont find it a problem like some people. The other problem is with my iPod and it seems it needs to be format in OSX which i'm not going to do because its linked to my main PC at home with all my music on, another big fail by apple , I will still use OSX from time to time as i like garage band for making tunes. I dont want people to think I dont like mac's, I love them but in a way i like using diffrent OS and diffrent hardware. So looks like i'm fanboy for both haha

No.

Windows formatted iTunes can be read and written to by OS X and Windows, you can't update the firmware of a Windows formatted iPod on OS X.

Mac formatted iPods can only be read and written to on OS X.

All you need to do is run Senuti, get all your music off your iPod, and on to iTunes, then you can do what you want with them.

You can't do what you want to do without third party software or a lot of hassle in windows.

You're just being stubborn because of your habits in windows, if you hate Safari so much in OS X, use Firefox.

Yeh I understand what you have said and have tried Senuti and it works fine, so thanks for the info. I'm not being stubborn with OSX and it does not matter if I use Safari or firefox it looks blurred and this is because of OSX and the way it is coded, I dont have a problem with the way safari runs but do have a problem with the way it looks. ;)

the above post has solved all the problems you have have mentioned with osx, i have recently converted with a mbp and am loving the simplicity of it and the fact it has only be turned off twice since having it and it still feels fresh unlike windows.

by blurred do you mean the font is looking blurred ?

Yes it looks blurred and yes I have tried diffrent settings, some people love it that way and dont mind it but i hate it. I dont want to turn this into a Vista V's OSX thread as I said before I like using both but prefer Vista at the moment but this might change in time, I like to keep a open mind about thing :D

It is not blurred!

It's anti-aliased! I bet you whine about jaggies in games, yet you like jaggies in fonts making them look crap?

I dont care if its anti-aliased or done by the movment of the sun I dont like the way it looks :)

and I love jaggies in games ;)

Your issues are down to "user ignorance" more than anything ;)

You've never been able to get music off the iPod without using hacks/3rd party software.

As for the "blurred" fonts.. that's the way they're meant to look. Windows renders them wrong.

I understand that windows renders them wrong but i prefer it ;) own personal choice I guess. As for the iPod issue it all ok now i have the info.

system pref > appearance

might help

Thanks for the info but have tried that a few times but it seems to not make much difference. Like caged says it just the way OSX renders it.

I will continue to use OSX and stick with it, I was just so angry when I wrote this thread with iTunes that it continued into osx and anything else that didn't work that day. :D

I need therapy after my iTunes shenanigans

Correct. Why on Earth did he spend all that money on a Mac + iPod to just bitch about how it is all "wrong" and to put Windows on it.

I got my MBP cheap and the ipod is for use in the car with my head unit. As far as Windows/Vista goes I don't have a problem with it as much as you dont have a problem with OSX ;) personal choice once again
