itunes and vista

Installed in about 2 hours ago on a laptop running Vista 32bit with no problems. Only problem was the Ipod nano my mate wanted to add music to had cd's transfered from another friends laptop and now it wants to format the nano deleting all 100 tracks loaded on because Itunes says it can only synchronize with another Itunes library.

Apple you ********!!!!!

If this is how things are with apple I will now NEVER buy an Ipod. Hopefully there is a way round this. :(

Hundreds of programs out there that prevent that!

Excellent I was hoping someone would have posted an answer, I did wonder this but I don't own an ipod, I know apple love drm and all that. Problem is I can't seem to transfer tracks off the ipod, thats the main problem I don't mind formating and copying files back just finding all the cd's and remembering which tracks to copy would be a pain. :)

Just set up a Playlist and copy your files over from that!!!... when you format your iPod (for what ever reason) you can then just re-copy the playlist back to it!!... saves hours of looking through 50Gb+ of music to try and find the definitive 7-8Gb that will fit on a nano (thats what I do anyhew!!)

Just noticed I put installed in about 2 hours, what that should say is installed it 2 hours ago in about 2 mins. :)

I did get to see the music on the nano by showing hidden files, but they are changed so you can't just copy them over like you would from say an external drive or usb drive. Files are shown like ZXYTG or something like that so I could copy it off but would have no idea what tracks were what. :(
