iTunes backup file?

Hi Guys,

I have a new laptop that I'd like to move my iTunes onto, so I'd like history of the playcount of each song, date added etc. Does iTunes store such a file I can just paste onto my laptop?

Not got iTunes on this PC but if I can remember correctly;

File then there should be an export option, think it exports it as an XML file. Load it up on the new install and it should add over the playlists etc. But I may be wrong.

Just copy over the entire 'iTunes' folder.

Or, if you don't have that much music use the 'back up to disk' option in iTunes.

As Justin said, if you want to keep your play counts, ratings etc, you would have to backup the whole iTunes folder. If not, use the "Back Up to Disc" option
