Hey,

All my music have different bit rates, I want to convert all my music to one bit rate (192k). Whats the easiest way to do this? I've already tried one example and not only does iTunes make a duplicate of the song (instead of replacing it) it also puts a "1" at the end of the title. Obviously this is good as I can see the new bit rate easily and delete the previous song. But it's going to take ages to edit all songs :(

Is there a way to convert and replace the existing song? I can't find an option within iTunes.

Thanks

don't bother messing with bitrates. you're wasting your time.

converting down if they are higher makes no sense unless you're really really really hard up for disk space - even then i still think it's hardly worth the effort. not to mention it'll sound cack. you should never encode anything from a lossy file - only lossless or the original cd.

and of course converting up from lower bitrates will only make the files bigger with no increase in quality. you can't make up for what isn't there in the first place quality wise.
