Is there a quick way I can recover deleted albums on my iPod Touch? I had not connected the device to my laptop for about 8 months, but on Saturday, connected the iPod so I could put more songs on it.
Firstly, it started updating automatically the ios from version 4.5 to version 6!!
Then, it automatically sync'd with my laptop, but failed to find my albums (moved to external HD to save 16GB space on my lappy), so proceeded to delete the albums OFF MY IPOD!!!!!!!
So anyway I can recover off the iPod without reconnecting and transferring to/from laptop and external HD? (plus all the hassle of refinding the artwork and librairies...)
:mad::mad:

iTunes wouldn't automatically update your iOS.

Just what I was thinking! Firstly iTunes will bring up a prompt telling you that a new software version is available and asks you if you want to Download and Update, or just Download. Then once it's downloaded you get a splash screen pointing out all the new features and T&Cs which you have to accept, and only then will it install.

It sounds like the OP is omitting some of the facts here!

It's certainly possible that it would have auto-synced though..there's an option to turn it off.

Not if it's a device that's not been synced with that computer before. It pops up a warning saying that it's associated with another computer and in order to sync with a new computer it will wipe the contents.

Sounds like he just clicked his way through everything without reading it ;)

Having seen the way my missus goes about clicking on whatever button is closest to her mouse cursor at the time, without reading what it is she's clicking, I can completely believe that :)
