iTunes - deleting duplicate

If I select the 'Show duplicate' from the view menu, I get a list of all the duplicate songs, fine

If I select all these songs and delete them, will it delete just the duplicates or will I loose the original track?

It deletes just the duplicates and leaves the original.

Wait, do you mean when you check the boxes next to them? If so, you have to manually check the ones you want to delete rather than just hitting 'check all' and letting it do it's work. That's how I understand it to work anyway.

Then no, I think you'll kill the originals if you do that. As I understand it you have to select just the duplicates, so if there are 3 versions only delete 2.

Keep in mind that if you have duplicates it means something weird has happened with your library. Make sure you check the length and quality of the ones you keep, I've found songs with minutes missing and strange audio glitches after being in the same position.
