iTunes doesn't recognise iPod Touch.

My girlfriends ipod touch is not being recognised by iTunes.

I've tried turning the power management off for the usb ports.

It's been happening since installing iTunes 8, I have tried reinstalling but still no luck. I have reverted back to installing iTunes 7 but still no luck.

It also is not being recognised by Windows Explorer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Tried reformatting the iPod at all?

Might have to as a last resort. I may have acidentally removed her iTunes library because when i reinstalled iTunes 7, It wouldnt recognise the iTunes library file so i deleted it, ah well.

She's trying it in another computer as we speak and if that doesn't work I will try a hard reset (hold power and menu button for 10 seconds.)

Take it there is no way of getting songs from the ipod to iTunes when it does work?

Update: Works on the other computer so she is updating the iPod.

There are several apps that can get songs off your iPod, none that come to mind for Windows at the moment sorry.
