iTunes downloads...

Quick question, iTunes music purchase downloads. Are these 256kbps AAC VBR constrained? Or 224kbps AAC VBR constrained? I've googled and they seem to be either or according to the age of postings. "Get info" the files I've downloaded from the store seems to lean towards them being 256.

Bump, what are iTunes downloads and can you get them in mp3 format.
Use to get my music of sky songs, but that's closed and with icloud I think iTunes looks like a sensible option. However it would need to be mp3 or at least a widely used format, so it can be used on pc, android, wp7 or any future os/device.
