iTunes for vista 64 now out

umm downloaded that and on install it came up with something like. "This installed is for 32bit versions of windows, its is recommended you use the 64bit installer"

your formatting your laptop just to put 64bit Itunes on ?? the guys in white will be round soon don't worry

saw this too, got hopeful, then got that message - someone please give me a shout when they've sorted it, I'd like to change the tunes on my touch sometime.

Got the 64 bit installer with IE (thanks to the above) but when I go through the installer it plans to 'plant' the installation in the x86 program file directory.

Surely it should be 'planting' it in the native program files folder for 64-bit?

The two folders are just for convenience really - I guess you could call it a very minor bug in the installer but it doesn't make any difference where it's installed.

seems strange to me that it's still 32-bit but it's actually different from the new version for vista 32-bit.

I don't know much about how software actually talks to an OS/hardware though.

One thing I did notice about it though is that I no longer get an error when starting up iTunes and it now recognises my optical drives for burning.

On my last install I used that 'GEAR' software to combat that (the lack of a burn option in iTunes) and it caused me to bluescreen every time I got into Windows so I had to uninstall it.
