Itunes/iPhone 3GS problem

Hi Guys,

Having serious issues with my 3GS and restoring an old backup from the 7th Nov. I restored this backup this morning and it worked ok, I'm trying to restore it this evening and it's having none of it.

I click on the restore from backup and then choose the date but the following error occurs:

"iTunes could not restore the backup as the backup session failed"

I've had nothing but problems with Win7 and iTunes but this error is one that I cannot seem to fix.

I need that backup to restore my iPhone!

Any help would be appreciated

Do you have access to another computer you can try it on?

Can I transfer the backed up directory a new computer with iTunes on?

Well it does appear to be a Win7 problem as I moved the backup directory folder to my other laptop with XP on it and it restored straight away.

How did you get around this ? I cant get my iphone 4 to backup on my windows 7 dell studio xps

IIRC I updated the BIOS and it rectified things. Hope this helps
