iTunes/iPhone problem!

I don't think I've ever had a problem answered regarding these two so I assume these issues only ever happen for me!

Has anyone ever moved a backup folder for the iPhone onto a new PC/Laptop and successfully restored the iPhone back to its previous setup?

I've got this problem and I'm worried I've lost everything I have the backup folders from my old (destroyed) pc so there is no way of using that.

Anyone any ideas?

"itunes could not restore the iphone because the backup session failed"

Do you have the entire original backup folder?

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Inside this folder are the GUID directories for the backups.

Where would the backup folder be on windows 7 guys ? ive hunted for ages and cant find it

Anywhere around here? I don't have a backup so can't tell

Make sure you click organise and then folder and search options > view > Show hidden files....
