iTunes + iPod after a format.

My girlfriends laptop needs to be formatted however she has all of her iTunes on the laptop.

If I format and re-install iTunes, will she lose all of the songs currently on her iPod or will they resync back to the library?

Confused on how this one works..

If she ever loses tracks she should be able to go to the iTunes store in iTunes and then on the right hand side menu there's an option "purchased". Look in there and you should be able to re-download anything you've bought.

NOTE! Check it before you format to see if it's all there incase there's some really old purchases she made that aren't showing. For example, I downloaded a Bon Iver album and I had to chase them up about a missing song. The song was available as a single, but for whatever reason it didn't download with my album (despite buying the album, not the single) and this has happened to me more than once. Which is why, when I download anything I immediately transfer it off my machine to a NAS for storage. Also, if you got extras like digital booklets that came with album purchases, those can be missing as well.

Back up the iTunes folder and put it back after. Simple as that.
