Itunes! +ipod, when i re-format i lose acces to my ipod = fresh install HELP!!!!

As it says in title! some times when i reinstall windows ect i lose the ablility to access songs on my ipod nano and shuffel, i have to reinstall all my music and i cant access my ipod! How strange, its as if its syncs in with the itunes then it wont talk to any other unless i wipe my pod and start again?

Yeah that's what iTunes does, an iPod can only be synced to a single installation of iTunes at a time (more specifically a single music library). It you try to do it with another it'll want to wipe the iPod.

You can turn the sync option off and add songs manually though

Whilst we are on the subject, does anyone know any good alternatives to Itunes that will give you full control and has full compatibility with album art and things like that?
