iTunes issue - W7 64 (and WMP)

Hi all

I put Windows 7 professional 64bit on my PC last week.

When i open up itunes, it seems to stall, and my processor usage peaks a lot.

It never used to do this on XP or Vista

any ideas?

I think itunes won't let you install 32bit version of itunes on 64bit machine, I tried few weeks ago and it wouldn't let me. Had a message to download 64bit version instead.

Must be some conflict with something on your machine, works fine on my Win7 64.

yeh its definitely the 64 bit :)

I have also just noticed in the task manager that Windows Media player keeps running. I click end process, then it starts up again!?

i think u can put 32bit on it just warns you to use the 64bit if thats the os

easy to check if you look at the folder installed is it in the 32bit part it creates ? if in 64bit u have that ,, unless you changed from default install

i definitely got the 64 bit version

I have just clicked to open iTunes now, and core 2 kept spiking to well over 80%

Looked in task manager, and it was windows media player. Click end task on it, and it just comes straight back!! any ideas?!

Try the good old uninstall and re-install I think. Remember to backup anything you may have paid for, songs etc...
