Im thinking of getting a PC as a file storage server, is it possible to have an iTunes libary on this computer that is avalible to the other computers on the same network? If so is there any guides/more info on how to do this?

Many Thanks, Ben

The only guide you need;

XP needs to be able to run on the worst_hardware_ever and so eye-candy takes a back seat. Thats why Vista comes with all this "basic Aero" malarky. OSX can take advantage of a minimum standard of computer hardware and graphical capability.

Too true, sharing the music on the network is a great idea, works well at uni. Ive got the pic of over 100,000 songs!

How fast is this? Might be persuaded to share my library :)

FYI: All files Lossess.

I've been doing this for ages. I have the iMac upstairs which I haven't sat down at for at least 6 months running iTunes and serving them to my MacBook. In my experience its very fast and works 99/100. Its great.

Ok, I'll share the library tonight..

Not my fault if my fianceé doesn't like classic rock :p;)

If i install iTunes on my Fileserver-to-be, and share it, is it possible to have 2 libaries or playlists and when the ipod is plugged into the other computers on the network, it can be updated(only 1 playlist is wrote to the iPod, so i dont get my mums songs on tbh) without being plugged into the server?
