Hi all

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice about an issue I am having with iTunes on my Macbook Air 2013.

I have my iTunes library on a Synology NAS and am running the latest update of El Capitain and iTunes. I've been running my iTunes library on my NAS for a couple of months and everything has been fine and app updates have been saving to my NAS along with all my other media.

Recently over the last week or so I've noticed that iTunes is saving app updates locally to my Macbook Air instead of onto the NAS like it used to do. I've not changed anything apart from update the Macbook with the latest software updates from the App store.

I've checked the location of the library in iTunes and it still pointing at my NAS so I don't understand why it keeps then saving app updates locally to my Macbook Air.

Can anyone suggest the best way to fix this?

Some say I should ask iTunes to consolidate the library again and others suggest recreating the library. Has anyone else got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just in case this happens to anyone else I managed to fix it by entering the path of the library to the NAS share and then I went to organise library and tasked iTunes to consolidate files again. Closed it and reopened and it worked so no idea what had happened to cause it.
