iTunes Library on Dual Boot M/C

I am currently running a dual boot system with Vista Premium and XP Pro (both 32bit) on the C: and V: partitions respectively.

I primarily use iTunes with XP Pro but have also set it up within Vista. Is it possible to have both versions working off a common library or does anyone have any experience of syncronisation software.
 
Thanks for the help however I don't think that I have made myself very clear.

My music is stored on my data D: drive and I have both copies of iTunes reading/writing from that source.

What I would like to keep synced are things like playlists.
