Can anyone recommend a way I can get iTunes to find all the artwork I am missing for all the albums I have imported. About a third of all the albums I have can't find artwork from the iTunes store and coverflow looks bad with all the empty black boxes.

find online store, drag and drop image
google images
there are some programs which supposedly do it for you (or give options) but never really had much success with them myself.

How many songs/albums do you have?
Not many, do it manually...
Loads, look at MusicBrainz with its album art plugin :)

I probably have approx 100 albums without artwork. iTunes seems to only find covers for albums sold in its own store. I will check out Musicbrainz as I don't fancy doing it manually.

Doing it manually doesn't take that long. I did it for at least 100 albums a few months back, primarily using google image search. Found a load of obscure covers that I couldn't get anywhere else too :)

I've found itunes can somtime be a bit stupid when it comes to fetching the album art for imported albums...

EG: Matrix Original Soundtrack - Some eclectic Folk music cover!...

I think it all boils down to how the Album/tracks are named!... if its been encoded to MP3/AAC by iTunes then it'll work no probs.. but I use EAC+LAME and the CD Database from there... so the naming can be a bit flakey... especially for Compilation albums!..

I've done it Manually.. just call the Art folder.jpg and drop it into the relevant album folder then use 'Audioshell' (google for it) to add it to the tracks... iTunes should pick em up no probs!..

I find the rain forest place can be quite good for this. I have quite a few Anime OST's and the .jp site for these people has been quite a good source for iTunes album art.
