iTunes music problem

Installed the new version, but now my music doesn't play properly. It has some sort of white noise over every track. :rolleyes:

It's not my speakers as everything else works fine. What's wrong?

DRM-protected? If not, do you have something else you can try it with?

Reinstalled and it's still there.

Even the music bought from iTunes does the same. Got nothing else to try it on at the moment.

What are you listening through? Does it do it though speakers and headphones etc?

It happens through both speakers and headphones. Media player works fine though.

Edit: Did a system restore and now it doesn't even open. Awful.

On windows? Try deleting the prefs files.

Or try a complete reinstall - making sure you remove everything first (iTunes on Windows is actually 6 installs rolled into one).

I have a program that uninstalls and then removes every last trace of it afterwards. Reinstalled iTunes and still having the same problem.

Deleted prefs files, updated drivers, gone back to old drivers, system restore, uninstalled completely and reinstalled, etc. yet still my music sounds weird. What on earth. Wish I never updated it now.

Right, I've managed to fix it, although I've lost my library, back ups, etc.

The only problem is that I'm on an old version now and can't update without it breaking again.
