Itunes music...

Hi all decided to format my laptop this weekend as it was running slow. Looked on the Apple site how to transfer my music over. Basically drag itunes folder (from my music) to usb flash drive, re install itunes on new pc, then copy over the flash to new laptop
Now i have done it to the letter, all music is in the itunes when i open the programe, but when i try to play any music its saying its not found on my laptop.
Have i lost all my music now?

Have you changed the iTunes folder in your iTunes settings?

No all settings are the same as they've always been. I have put the Itunes folder in the correct location as above.

Funny enough tried the same kind of thing at the weekend - I followed a tutorial on the apple site as I wanted to store my music on an external drive - I followed the instructions to the letter and got the same problem as you!

So annoying when you follow instructions to the letter and they dont work out right.. DOing my bloody head in now!

No i have reformatted. Followed apple's instructions on how to transfer to a new pc, now seem to have lost it all.

Yes the iTunes library is still backed up on the flash drive
But iTunes won't play it because the song can't be found. It's almost like you need the file on your laptop and also linked to the iTunes library folder
