Itunes playing up! - advice needed

as you can see i have strange duplication issue, i have over 11,000 songs in ITunes and since building a new pc and importing my library. This seems to be right through the library. If you click on one of the duplicated songs with the ‘iTunes error’ symbol it says it can’t find it, like wise if you click on the duplicated one that is in the library it adjusts the title to how the one looks with the error. Which is correct? However it will take me an age to go through and delete all the incorrect ones. Any ideas?

I'd just delete your library and reimport all your songs into a new one...I don't see how it can happen if you just add your MP3s directly?

(edit) Actually, do any of your MP3 folders contain playlist files? This happens to me sometimes - if you have a folder with the MP3s in and also a playlist file, all the files get added twice. Maybe you have a saved playlist file with the incorrect paths?

yeah a lot of my artits>albums folders have a playlist i have created in winamp, so that could be causing the issue, i will check and see if that is the case, how can i over come that then? as i like have the playlist for winamp 2 quick access!
