I seem to be encountering this problem with a lot of Artists/Albums in iTunes.

As you can see below it splits songs up that are in the same album, why? I have checked the actual folder and the songs have all the same info so why would iTunes split them up?!

Help!

I've also got a problem in albumn view how do you clump compolation cd's together? I've got the group compolations whilst browsing - ticked. But it doesn't clump them?

Also why does it only pic up some art work. They all have a pic called cover.jpg in the folder. But it picks some up but not others.

if they are named the same (id3 tag, doesn't matter on folders), then it's usually a space at the end of the artist/albumn

Yeah, i'd check this first. Also while you're at it, Funeral For A Friend aren't Nu Metal :p

My iTunes doesn't do this either, i'd guess it's just never been implemented that way. The compilation tag only affects what folders iTunes creates if you have it set to organise your music library for you.

Itunes doesn't support cover.jpg / folder.jpg files at all, it only supports embedded artwork in the mp3s or its own database of artwork imported from the iTunes store (the pictures aren't stored in the mp3s). My guess is that some of your artwork is embedded as is being picked up and the rest isn't. There's a few programs out there that will automatically embed the cover.jpg files for you, I think the free Mp3tag program can.

I thought I'd bump this thread and not start another.

I have another issue with iTunes. As you can see from the picture, tracks are not correctly listed in number order on someof my albums. Any ideas?

If you right click on the file (in windows) go to properties and click advanced. what is the track number for track 10 and any of the others in that album?

Thats probably the "track number XXX of XXX" setting under info - make sure they all have no number in the fields for total tracks or make sure they all have the right number in there.

As for the problem in the first post that happenns when there is differing info in the fields used for sorting - right click the first track - get info > sorting , then start going through track by track making sure all the fields match including obscure things like the composer fields ;)

To get things like "now 24" comps grouped , I've started using the album name (or could be anything really) in the SORT ARTIST and SORT ALBUM field :D

What genre would you put them in then? :p

Thanks for the answers, funnely enough the song had Track number 10 of (nothing) so it was correct. I deleted the 10 and OK'd it, went back and put 10 in again and seems to of worked.
