Hi,

Got a few questions regarding itunes that i hope you will be able to help me with, as im new to OSX and macs.

1) I've recently been importing my whole music collection onto my macbook. Every once in a while i get a CD that itunes seems to struggle on (guess its probably a scratch on the cd or something). However, itunes just seems to sit there trying/hanged. I cant stop it trying to do the import and i cant eject the cd as its being used. I therefore end up right clicking on the dock item, clicking quit, and then clicking force quit. This doesn't seem like the best way... but what should i be doing?

2) Is the only automatic way to get the album art is via signing up for an itunes account with my credit card details? I don't really want to use one of the widgets and then do it all manually. I'm not against signing up to itunes particulary but i know im never going to purchase anything from it and i dont really like signing up for things i have alternatives to (especially when it needs my credit card details).

3) Some of my CD's are compilations. I've turned on the keep compilation albums together option in preferences but it doesn't seem to have done the trick? my songs on these albums are still split up based on artist. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

My Mac and itunes is completely patched up to the latest versions.

Cheers

Ok i've now sorted 3) by finding the part of compilation album option in get info, and then using the album by artist as the sort order.

Any help on 1) and 2) would be great.

via iTunes is probably the best way to get album art given the absence of other easier methods

as for your problem can't I have run into it, could always try importing it using a separate program like Max
