iTunes query

Just purchased my first album off iTunes (gotta go legit eventually, right?

). Only problem is they don't play in media player, is there any way to change this? Do apple make you listen to them with itunes? Cos if so it'll probably be my last purchase :mad:

Yeah, the only way to listen to them is in iTunes. But in the last 3-4 days it has come to light that a 21 year old hacker has broken the iTunes code and now if you download his piece of software, you can convert them to anything. It was on the news a couple of days ago. Have a search around.

isn't there an addon or anything for media player which allows it to play these files?

No (afaik) because they are encrypted files

burn them to CD, then rip them with an mp3 ripper.

dont need years of hacking knowledge to work that out

Or don't use iTunes, seriously.

I love my iPod - but their software is awful, only no one will say so as its Apple and not Microsoft.

For transfer, I use anapod explorer. And for mp3s, the unmentionable place.

IIRC you can use itunes itself.

IIRC Winamp does. Winamp plays everything, .ogg, .avi etc
