Right.... Maybe I'm overcomplicating this, but hear me out !
Current setup.
Windows 7 PC in the lounge as a HTPC, Main Machine for itunes with some purchased music content on it but a tonne of CD's that I've also transferred onto it
Mac Mini in the Bedroom as a HTPC, setup as an authorised machine, can see the shared library on the Windows 7 PC
Macbook Pro as an er... well laptop !, again, set up as an authorised machine, can see the shared library on the Windows 7 PC
Currently using an Airport Extreme for wireless, with an Iomega 1TB Macmini looking drive for storage connected to it via USB... No iTunes data on it as yet... but read on !
Bek has an iPod Touch that we want to sync up with the music on my Windows 7 pc... and I guess ideally I'd like to do this from the laptop to save faffing around with cables round the tv.
Am I being unrealistic wanting to be able to do this? The only thing I can think is to transfer the data off the PC onto the shared iomega drive, add that as a library location on both the laptop and the pc, and then all will work just fine.... only thing that I can see causing problems is that if I add music to the shared drive from the PC or the macbook will the file lists within itunes go out of sync?
If you have a similar setup, please let me know if there is a better solution... can I now sync from a shared library ?
