Itunes skipping on every song

Itunes always skips between the first 10 - 20 seconds of every song. After the first 20 seconds it plays fine.

I've tried changing Quicktime to wave out but that hasn't worked.

When I have my Ipod connected and play songs off of it's libary I have no skipping.

Any ideas?

Never heard of that before. Does this happen if you open 1 file in iTunes?

Tried removing everything from your library and re-adding?
Running current version of iTunes?
Tried re-installing?

Yes, Yes and Yes.

As it plays fine off of the ipod. I think it might have something to do with my Libary being on the D drive and Itunes being on the C drive.

I'm doing a fresh install of XP soon so hopefully that will solve it.

wont be because of the files being on different drive to the program. as a matter of fact that should actually make it better as you arent trying to get 2 lots of info from one drive all at once. it sounds strange that its playing up though. have you tried playing your music with a different player like winamp ow windows media player? if so are you getting the same results?
