Itunes & Synology NAS question

I am aware that it is not possible to stream videos from the sinology to devices which have DRM ie iTunes purchased files but I am wondering if it is possible to have my iTunes library stored on my NAS and still be able to use Home Share to see these vids?
Anyone know if it is possible as it would make my life a lot quieter as I could put my NAS drive in a separate room to the pc and less clutter (according to the Boss!)
Thx in advance

Been a while since I did this but I've used a mapped synology folder (in windows explorer) to store my itunes music in and at the same time use it via the built in media server from the same location. I set 'music' (the default dlna location) as the itunes music folder and I just set itunes to use that as the location for storage. I never really bothered with videos from itunes but did have one with drm and it played fine via itunes.

Same principle with videos like mkv's which all play fine as long as the tv supports it (old synology)

All I did to access the media on the tv is access the dlna shares on the nas.

thanks for the reply lsg- apparently you are the only person in over 120 reads (this and B-Tech forum) who has stated something!
I'll see what I can do when I have time!

Just to say that it does indeed work what I wanted- store all of my iTunes libraries on the Synology NAS and mount that as my iTunes library, watch all files via the Home Share on iPad.
