iTunes 'updating iPod'

Hey

At last i got my iPod recognised in iTunes however it has a box now scrolling saying 'updating iPod' but doesnt say what its doing, and it wont stop?

What do i do, i just want to add tunes

Updating the ipod in itunes normally means its synchronising your itunes library with the ipod.

If you manually want to move music in itunes onto the ipod, there will be an option somewhere (can't remember off the top of my head) that allows you to manually manage your ipod.
