iTunes - W7, XP, Library Import...

I'm always wary when it comes down to poking around with iTunes, especially since I store all of the music on a separate drive from both my XP install and my W7 install. Now, I'm suffering from a terrible lack of music on my W7 OS. Is it safe to assume that it's enough to simply point iTunes to the directory where my music is physically correct and to then import the library used on XP?

Itunes is a very easy beast to work with if you let it do its own thing.

So I have done and always will:

Let it manage its own music
Copy new music to its managed location (which is on another drive)

Then when I do a new OS install I simply install Itunes, load it up, go to preferences, change the folder location, ask it to manage my music..

close Itunes..

.. hold left-shift and load it up again and it should bring up a library selection box where you choose the library file in your managed location that contains all of your ratings etc..

Job done.

Brilliant! Thank you...

What happens if I import a new CD through XP? Will it automatically update over on W7 or will I have to re-import the library for new additions?
