Not sure whether to put this here or in sound city so if it's wrong please could a mod move it thanks. Anyway I have a problem I need to switch my itunes onto a different computer, is there anyway of doing this without losing all the music that I have on it as it would take absolutly ages to put all my music back on starting from scratch?
Cheers tom

IIANM iTunes is simply a player. All the music you're playing are files on your machine.

Ok then, sorry still no idea what you're talking about, is it a case of starting from scratch then?

If you have let iTunes manage your music library, then all your music should be in a "iTunes Music" folder (probably in "My Music" folder within "My Documents").

You can simply copy this folder (over a network, burn it to disk, whatever) to the new pc. When you then install iTunes on the new PC it should automatically pick up your entire library. If not, go to File | Add Folder to Library and select the "iTunes Music" folder that you copied over.

Remember to deauthorize the original computer (one of the menu options in iTunes, think its under the tools menu) if any of the music has been purchased through the iTunes Music Store.

you'll have a folder on your PC somewhere, normaly My documents/My Music/Itunes/ that will have a list of artists, with albums as sub dirs, the music files are in there.

You don't need to deauthorize unless you are getting rid of the pc. You only need to deauthorize if you have more than 5 pcs on 1 itunes account. You can play the music you bought on 5 computers.
