Ok I am getting a SSD in a few days for my macbook pro. I want to do a fresh install of snow leopard. I want to be able to migrate all all my iphone, itunes stuff. So that when I connect my iphone to the new build it is able to sync with it. There must be a tranfer wizard or something.

Thanks

Jeff

Re-installed Snow Leopard last week. Copied the iTunes folder from within the Music folder onto an external drive and put it back once I'd re-installed. Everything was as it was before - phone synced straight away.

Presume this will only work if you allow iTunes to manage your media, though - in terms of file locations. Pretty sure that's the default setting on the Mac though. The guide I followed for backing up files suggested enabling the Root account, then logging into this and copying files that way, to stop the files being locked to a specific user after the re-install.
