basicley i want a low cost ITX system that will play some game on mid settings like BF3, MW2. is it posible to do it with AMD

i have a GTX 480 if i use this set up would it play games.

ASRock FM2A75M-ITX AMD A75 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Mini ITX
AMD Athlon X4 740 3.20GHz (Socket FM2) Trinity Quad Core Processor
Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz

i know the CPU is getting some stick for not having a i-GPU but for ppl that want ITX on a budget the only choice is FM2 so in the case the athlon 740 makes seance as the i-GPU in the other FM2 range is not upto must on the gaming front is it?

Or would this play game in mid setting without the GTX 480

AMD A8-5500 3.20GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor
ASRock FM2A75M-ITX AMD A75 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Mini ITX
Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz

The Athlon II X4 740 lacks an IGP and costs £54. For a multi-threaded game like BF3,it would be a better choice than a Pentium dual core,as even The Tech Report showed that even in BF3 SP,the IB based G2120 had much worse figures than even older AMD and Intel 4 thread CPUs.

The OP does not need to invest in 1866MHZ for the Athlon II X4 740,as 1600MHZ DDR3 should probably be fine, even though the 1866MHZ they have mentioned is a very good price ATM.

Having said that, the GTX480 probably would not be a great choice for a mini-ITX rig anyway,so perhaps the OP should consider going for a mATX or a smaller ATX rig??
