Hi all

I've decided that I wanted a small form factor PC for lounge gaming and media, rather than going the console route, so time to get my build on! :p

I opted for the Raven case after a lot of research, and it seems that despite being a very compact case, it is still incredibly capable.

Now, in terms of budget, I was originally looking at ~£500, which I did go slightly over, but for the spec I ended up with will be well worth it, I think! Second hand parts helped a lot at lowering the total cost, so the below price isn't totally accurate!

So, the spec is nice and simple:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 280X TurboDUO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £229.99
1 x Intel Core i3-4150 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Silverstone Strider SFX Gold 450w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (SST-ST45SF-G) £76.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit £71.99
1 x Silverstone SST-RVZ01 Raven Mini-ITX - Black £69.98
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £67.99
1 x Asus H81I-Plus Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £58.99
1 x Western Digital Scorpio Blue 2.5" 750GB 5400RPM SATA 6Gb/s 8MB Cache - OEM (WD7500BPVX) HDD £41.99
Total : £717.52 (includes shipping : £8.00).

This isn't the exact motherboard as it was purchased elsewhere, but similar enough to give you guys a spec idea.

To be honest, I'm looking forward to giving the case a go. It should be very different to the mid/full tower builds I've done before!

Second hand parts that arrived nice and early today, the bulk however...

Mobo installed, with the stock Intel cooler and the RAM installed too. I was considering an aftermarket cooler, but I'll see how the stock one handles it first

Cable management is starting to look difficult!
